Inclusive Governance: Okpebholo’s Administration Promotes Diversity Through Policy Design: Haruna Braimoh

The Edo State Government has reiterated its commitment to inclusive governance and integrated development, with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration emphasizing diversity, merit, and equitable representation as key pillars of its policy direction. The government said its approach to governance is designed to ensure that opportunities and resources are distributed fairly while strengthening effective service delivery across the state.

The administration noted that its commitment to inclusiveness extends beyond political rhetoric, describing it as a deliberate strategy aimed at building a political and administrative framework that accommodates individuals from diverse backgrounds based on competence and their capacity to contribute to the state’s development.

As part of this commitment, the state government announced the nomination of Mr. Martin Anayochukwu Oli as a Commissioner-designate. The nomination, according to the government, reflects Governor Okpebholo’s resolve to foster an administration that values diversity and harnesses the expertise of qualified individuals regardless of their state of origin.

Mr. Oli, an accomplished businessman from Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, is expected to bring extensive private sector experience and a strong passion for grassroots development to the Edo State Executive Council. His nomination has been presented as another step toward strengthening the government’s development agenda.

The government expressed confidence that the Commissioner-designate would contribute significantly to the implementation of policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of Edo residents. It added that his experience aligns with the administration’s vision of delivering responsive and people-oriented governance.

According to the government, the appointment is also consistent with Governor Okpebholo’s S.H.I.N.E. Agenda, which seeks to accelerate sustainable development through inclusive leadership, effective public service delivery, and policies that promote growth and shared prosperity across Edo State.

The statement was signed by Hon. Haruna Braimoh, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs and Media, who reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive government that leverages diversity as a catalyst for innovation, development, and improved governance.
