2027 Oredo East Race: Oredo LG Chairman Endorses Edebiri for APC State Assembly Ticket
Political activities ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress primaries in Edo State gained momentum on Thursday as Gabriel Iduseri officially endorsed Osamuede Edebiri for the Oredo East State Constituency seat.
The endorsement took place at the Oredo Local Government Secretariat in Benin City and attracted party leaders, councillors, political appointees, supporters, and other stakeholders within the party.
Speaking at the event, Gabriel Iduseri described Edebiri as a committed party loyalist with the capacity, grassroots support, and political experience needed to effectively represent the people of Oredo East in the Edo State House of Assembly.
He stressed the need for candidates who are dedicated to the growth of the party and capable of uniting members across wards and interest groups ahead of the primaries.
“Osamuede Edebiri has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the APC and has remained actively involved in mobilising grassroots support for the party,” Iduseri said.
He urged party members and delegates in Oredo East to support Edebiri’s aspiration in order to strengthen the party’s chances in the constituency.
The endorsement is expected to further consolidate Edebiri’s support base within the party as the contest for the Oredo East ticket gathers momentum.
Responding, Osamuede Edebiri thanked the acting chairman and party leaders for the endorsement, describing it as a demonstration of confidence in his vision for the constituency.
He assured party members that if elected, he would focus on people-oriented representation centred on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, improved social welfare, and stronger engagement with constituents.
Edebiri also pledged to align his legislative agenda with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, while reaffirming his commitment to the ideals and principles of the All Progressives Congress.
Stakeholders at the event described the endorsement as a strategic move aimed at strengthening party unity in Oredo East, expressing optimism that Edebiri’s candidacy would enhance the APC’s electoral prospects in the constituency.
