Edo Governor Nominates Iriabekhai Kayode Jeffery as Commissioner-Designate

The Edo State Government has announced the nomination of Mr. Iriabekhai Kayode Jeffery as a commissioner-designate for the state. The announcement was made in a public notice dated 19 May 2026.

According to the statement, Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the nomination. The appointment is subject to screening and confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

Mr. Iriabekhai Kayode Jeffery is described as a dedicated and goal-oriented professional with a background in Accounting. He has been recognized for his commitment to organizational growth and excellence in previous roles.

The government noted that his track record includes consistent contributions toward achieving corporate goals and delivering results in assigned responsibilities. Officials said the nomination aligns with efforts to strengthen the state’s administrative capacity.

The nomination will now be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration. Lawmakers are expected to review the credentials and conduct the confirmation process in line with legislative procedures.

The announcement was signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the Edo State Government, who conveyed the decision on behalf of the state government.
