Ondo State Secretary to the Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi, Dies
Akure, Ondo State – Shock has gripped Ondo State following the death of Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Sources within the Ondo State Government confirmed the news to earlier this morning.
Oluwatuyi, who was appointed to the position by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in January 2024, passed away Saturday morning at an undisclosed hospital. The cause of death has not yet been officially released.
Significantly, Oluwatuyi had previously served as SSG under the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration. His passing comes just weeks after he was involved in a serious car accident. In December, reports emerged that Oluwatuyi’s vehicle skidded off the Ife-Ibadan Expressway, resulting in injuries that required intensive care at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
While the connection between the accident and his death remains unconfirmed, the timing has raised concerns. The Ondo State Government is yet to release an official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
De Parrot Media expresses its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the people of Ondo State. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
