Mercy Chinwo, EeZee Tee Begin Reconciliation Talks Over $345,000 Royalty Dispute

The Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, Nancy Nnadi, popularly known as Coach Nancy, has confirmed that reconciliation efforts are underway to resolve the ongoing royalty dispute between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee.

In a statement posted via her official Instagram page, Nnadi retracted her previous allegations against Chinwo and expressed hope that the mediation—facilitated by prominent Christian leaders—will lead to a peaceful resolution.

“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and the love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. I also pray that Almighty God perfects the ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz,” she wrote.

Ireporteronline recalls that the legal battle between Chinwo and EeZee Tee stems from an allegation that the latter diverted $345,000 in music royalties owed to Chinwo. The matter escalated earlier this year when Chinwo took legal action against her former label boss, two years after their professional split in 2023 over financial disagreements.

While the matter was still in court, Coach Nancy had intensified the controversy by accusing Chinwo of financial misconduct on social media. In response, Chinwo filed a defamation lawsuit against her, demanding a public apology and the removal of all defamatory posts.

Coach Nancy’s latest statement signals a change in tone, suggesting progress in peace efforts led by respected clerics identified as the “Fathers of Faith.” The development aims to foster unity within Nigeria’s gospel music scene, which has been strained by the high-profile dispute.

The outcome of the ongoing mediation could determine whether the court cases will be withdrawn in favor of an amicable settlement.
