In the intricate tapestry of governance, focus serves as the sine qua non that interlaces vision with execution. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has exhibited an unwavering commitment to constructing a robust and efficacious administration. In a recent discourse, I indirectly counseled that Governor Okpebholo should remain resolute in his mission to assemble a formidable cabinet. True to his character, in addition to his already appointed commissioners, he has nominated six distinguished individuals to the Edo State House of Assembly for confirmation: Marie Olabisi-Idaomi, Paddy Iyamu, Paul Ohonbamu, Washington Osifo, Lucky Eseigbe, and Andrew Ijegbai.
Governor Okpebholo's dedication to transparency and accountability is further exemplified by his audacious stance against corruption. By exposing the alleged remittance of N12 billion by profligate local government council bosses to PDP godfathers, he has taken a decisive stand for justice and the rule of law. The disgruntled and directionless opposition in Edo State, whose notoriety is devious falsehood which characterized their administration for eight years, is now facing a new era. Edo State is on the move, and the critical majority of the masses believe in and support the new Governor. His valorous act of good governance has not gone unnoticed, garnering commendations from civil and notable individuals alike.
As we extol Governor Okpebholo for his unwavering commitment to justice, we also recognize the laudable efforts of Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa. His eloquent call for unity and concerted efforts among party faithful underscores the administration's dedication to delivering exemplary governance to the people of Edo State.
The six new commissioner nominees, each a round peg in a round hole, are poised to further augment the transformative vision of Governor Okpebholo. Their expertise and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the positive trajectory of the administration. As we closely observe the Governor as he makes further appointments, we pray that Divine Providence continues to bestow upon him the sagacity to make judicious decisions.
In addition to the commendable efforts of the Governor and the contributions his new commissioner nominees will bring, we also acknowledge the significant contributions of the Secretary to the State Government and the Chief of Staff to the Governor. Their unwavering support and dedication to service have been instrumental in the administration's success. Furthermore, the new initiatives of the Commissioner of Health and the Chairman of SUBEB are already making a salutary impact, promising a brighter future for the people of Edo State.
Governor Okpebholo's adeptness in balancing governance with the religious needs of his constituents is also noteworthy. As Muslim faithful prepare for the Hajj pilgrimage, the Governor has ensured that their spiritual journey is supported, demonstrating his commitment to the holistic well-being of his people.
