Edo Governor Okpebholo Condemns PDP Attempts to Influence Election Tribunal
BENIN CITY, Edo State – Governor Monday Okpebholo has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attempting to manipulate the ongoing election tribunal case through intimidation, thuggery, and the spread of misinformation. In a statement released Friday, January 17, 2025, by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor expressed deep concern over reports of witness intimidation, the deployment of thugs, and premature victory claims by the PDP.
Governor Okpebholo described these actions as an affront to the justice system and a threat to the rule of law. He called on the judiciary, law enforcement, and other relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the allegations and take decisive action against those responsible.
The governor insisted that the people of Edo State deserve a fair and transparent tribunal process and vowed to not tolerate any actions that undermine its integrity.
