IPOB Slams Nigeria's Terrorism List as 'Theatre of Absurdity'

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned Nigeria's recently published "terrorism sponsors list" as a "disgraceful farce" and a "laughable, desperate, and intellectually bankrupt exercise" designed to deceive the public.

In a statement issued on April 13, 2026, IPOB's spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, described the list as a crude attempt at international misinformation that collapses under the weight of its own falsehood. The statement questioned the Nigerian government's moral authority to define terrorism, given its history of unleashing violence on unarmed civilians.

The statement highlighted the Nigerian government's actions, including the starvation and killing of millions of children to suppress Biafra's emergence, and the use of state machinery against peaceful protesters, as evidence of its hypocrisy. IPOB maintained that its movement is peaceful and anchored on the inalienable right to self-determination.

The statement warned that the Nigerian government's attempts to demonize IPOB and label its members as terrorists would not intimidate the Biafran people or deter them from their struggle for justice, dignity, and self-determination. It emphasized that the struggle is not a crime, but a right that remains non-negotiable.

IPOB called out the Nigerian government's actions as state-sponsored deception and urged the international community to see through the propaganda. The statement concluded by affirming the Biafran people's resolve to continue their peaceful agitation for self-determination.
