PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES MAJOR ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
In a significant move to boost Nigeria's infrastructure, President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate reconstruction of three federal roads in Niger State and the extension of the Bodo-Bonny Road to connect with the East-West Road in Rivers State.
The three roads in Niger State, which will be reconstructed using reinforced concrete pavement, include the Mokwa-Bida Road (120km), Mokwa-Makeri Road (63km), and Bida-Labata Road (123.5km). This is expected to improve transportation and economic activity in the region.
The extension of the Bodo-Bonny Road will be executed as a dual carriageway, constructed with concrete pavement, and equipped with solar-powered street lighting. This project is part of President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at improving Nigeria's infrastructure and connectivity.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced the development, stating that the projects will be completed as soon as possible. The reconstruction of these roads is expected to reduce travel time, boost trade, and improve the overall quality of life for residents in the affected areas.
