Bendel Insurance, Edo Queens Triumph in NPFL, Earn Praise from Enabulele

BENIN CITY – Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens secured crucial victories in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) today at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, earning praise from Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC) Executive Chairman, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele.

Bendel Insurance overcame Enyimba FC with a hard-fought 1-0 win, with Kayode Oke finding the back of the net in the 55th minute. Despite missing several scoring opportunities and Enyimba's first-half dismissal of Innocent Gabriel, Insurance's determination proved key. This victory serves as a morale booster after their recent loss to Shooting Stars.

Edo Queens also impressed, defeating Nasarawa Amazons 2-0. Mary Mamudu and Goodness Osigwe scored in the 23rd and 25th minutes respectively to secure the win.

Hon. Enabulele, expressing satisfaction, attributed the teams' success to their hard work in training. "Their hard work paid off," he commented, acknowledging missed chances in the Insurance match but expressing confidence in future improvements.

The match attracted a high-profile audience, including Edo Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Commissioner for Information Barr. Paul Ohonbamu, Commissioner for Water Resources Barr. Washington Osifo, Head of Service Barr. Anthony Okungbowa, and ESSC Permanent Secretary Mrs. A. P. Efe-Amenze.

Enabulele reiterated the ESSC's commitment to supporting local football and promoting sports excellence in Edo State.
