Edo Governor Okpebholo Appoints Kelvin Aigbe Special Adviser on Security
The Edo State Government has announced the appointment of Engr. Kelvin Ovanbor Aigbe as the new Special Adviser to Governor Monday Okpebholo on Security. The appointment was contained in a special government announcement dated August 10, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
According to the statement, the appointment was approved by the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s security architecture and enhance effective coordination of security-related matters across Edo State.
Engr. Kelvin Ovanbor Aigbe is described as an entrepreneur with a strong commitment to excellence, humanitarian service and community development. His background in enterprise and community-oriented initiatives is expected to bring additional experience and perspective to his new responsibilities.
The new Special Adviser is also actively involved in politics and has demonstrated a sustained commitment to public service, grassroots development, as well as political and community leadership. His experience and engagement at the grassroots level are expected to support his new role in addressing security concerns and strengthening collaboration with communities across the state.
The appointment comes as the Edo State Government continues to place emphasis on security as a key component of its development agenda. In his new capacity, Aigbe is expected to work with relevant government institutions, security agencies and stakeholders to support the administration’s efforts toward maintaining peace, safety and security in the state.
The appointment takes immediate effect. The Edo State Government is expected to formally integrate the new Special Adviser into the administration’s security coordination framework as he assumes his responsibilities.
