NASS 2027: Auchi Stands Still as Agbomhere Declares, Unveils ‘VAWAZOBIA’ Agenda Amid Massive Show of Support

Auchi witnessed an unprecedented political spectacle as Dr. Blessing Agbomhere formally declared his ambition for the House of Representatives, Etsako Federal Constituency, with a turnout that brought major roads to a standstill. The Ikelebe Sports Arena, popularly known as Public Field, was filled beyond capacity as thousands of supporters, party faithfuls, and stakeholders thronged the venue, creating a gridlock that underscored the magnitude of the event. The atmosphere, charged with enthusiasm, mirrored that of a presidential rally, leaving little room for movement within and around the arena.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Agbomhere struck a tone of humility and gratitude, going on his knees to appreciate Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for prioritizing youth inclusion in governance. He noted a paradigm shift from the past, where young people were largely confined to limited roles, to a new era where they now occupy strategic positions such as Executive Board Chairmen and Directors. He also extended appreciation to party leaders and loyalists for their unwavering support and commitment to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Central to his declaration was the unveiling of his political blueprint, VAWAZOBIA, a doctrine he described as a strategic push to secure a rightful place for the Etsako people within Nigeria’s broader national framework. Drawing from the symbolism of “WAZOBIA”, an acronym representing the major ethnic blocs, Agbomhere urged that Etsako nationality (VA) deserves recognition as a vital contributor to nation-building. He maintained that his aspiration is driven by the need to position Etsako prominently in national discourse and opportunities.

Expounding on the agenda, Agbomhere pledged to prioritize infrastructural development, industrialization, political inclusion, human capital advancement, and the security of lives and property. He assured the crowd that if entrusted with the mandate, his representation would be impactful, vocal, and result-oriented, promising that the voices of Etsako sons and daughters would resonate strongly on the floor of the National Assembly.

The declaration attracted an array of prominent APC figures, including the three LGA Chairmen, Alh. Ahmed Dauda (Etsako West), Captain Philip Itsede (Etsako Central), and Mr. Boniface Okponokhe (Etsako East), who unanimously endorsed Agbomhere’s candidacy. Party leaders such as Chief Jim Garuba and Chief JB Aloye echoed similar sentiments, describing him as loyal, disciplined, and committed. They urged stakeholders across all levels to rally behind Agbomhere, affirming that his emergence would translate into effective representation and renewed political relevance for Etsako Federal Constituency.
