*Iguobazuwa* – The lawmaker representing Ovia South-West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Aghedo, on Friday, April 24, 2026, declared his intention to seek re-election in 2027. He made the declaration during a meeting with leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ovia South-West, where he presented his scorecard for the past two years.

Addressing party stakeholders in Iguobazuwa, Hon. Aghedo highlighted his vibrant contributions to bills and motions on the floor of the House. He disclosed that he has executed over 30 projects in the constituency since assuming office. He described his representation as impact-driven and result-oriented, noting that the projects span education, infrastructure, health, and youth empowerment. The meeting, he explained, was convened to give an account of his stewardship and to intimate the party of his plan to continue the work he has started.

The lawmaker stressed that his re-election bid is anchored on consolidating gains already recorded and completing ongoing initiatives. “I am here to present my scorecard and to seek your support to finish the good work we have started together. The people of Ovia South-West deserve continuity in development,” Aghedo told party leaders and members.

The declaration was attended by top government and party officials. Present at the meeting were the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; Commissioner for Livestock Development, Prof. Ikponwosa Omorodion; Special Adviser on Youth Development, Prince Christopher Iyase; and the APC Chairman of Ovia South-West, Mr. Ogbomo. Others included the Chairman of Ovia South-West Local Government Council, Hon. Nosakhare Edobor; the Vice Chairman of the council; chiefs; ward chairmen and leaders; councillors and supervisors; board members; and the Secretary of the party.

Party leaders commended Hon. Aghedo for his open-door approach and for regularly briefing the constituency on his activities. Several members described the presentation of his scorecard as a mark of accountability and transparency. They noted that executing over 30 projects within two years reflects a strong commitment to the development of Ovia South-West.

Hon. Aghedo urged party leaders and members to support his re-election bid in 2027 to enable him to deliver more dividends of democracy. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to continue working with stakeholders to advance the interests of the constituency if given another mandate.
