Ahmed Musa Announces Retirement from International Football



Super Eagles legend Ahmed Musa has officially announced his retirement from international football, ending a remarkable 15-year career representing Nigeria on the global stage.


In a heartfelt message posted on X, Musa reflected on his journey: “I wore this badge with pride for 15 years. From a 17-year-old boy who answered every call for Nigeria, to becoming the most capped Super Eagle with 111 appearances.”


Throughout his illustrious career, Musa achieved numerous milestones, including winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and becoming Nigeria’s highest World Cup goalscorer. He also served as captain, earning a reputation as a dedicated servant and believer in the cause.


“I gave everything. Thank you, Nigeria… my heart will always beat green,” Musa added in his farewell message.


Musa leaves behind a legacy marked by commitment, leadership, and exceptional service to the nation. Fans and teammates alike have expressed their gratitude for his significant contributions to Nigerian football over the years.
