Family debunks rumours surrounding death of Peju Ogunmola’s son, Sola Omobolanle

The family of the late Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle has dismissed reports suggesting that he died in a bathroom accident, clarifying that the circumstances surrounding his death were misrepresented by online speculations.

In a statement signed by filmmaker Yemi Amodu on behalf of the family, they confirmed that Sola, the son of veteran actors Sunday Omobolanle (popularly known as Aluwe) and Peju Ogunmola, passed away recently after a brief illness.

According to the statement, the young man received “first-class medical care” during his illness, but despite the best efforts of doctors, he died peacefully at a hospital in Ibadan. He has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.

The family strongly condemned circulating claims that Sola died from a fall in the bathroom without assistance. “These misleading stories not only dishonour his memory but also bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones,” the statement read.

Describing Sola as a “jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives,” the family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support they have received since his passing.

They also prayed for God’s comfort on families dealing with grief, while asking the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
