EDO STATE FORESTRY COMMISSION TO PARTNER WITH DANGOTE GROUP ON REFORESTATION
The Chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission, Hon. Valentine Asuen, recently played host to a delegation from the Dangote Group. The group Led by Mr Tolu Adebayo visited the office of the Chairman to inform the commission of the group's intention to support the Edo State Government's reforestation program through the Edo State forestry commission.
According to him, the Dangote Group intends to reforest 200 hectares of degraded land in Edo State's forest reserves for Conservation Purposes aligning with the state government's biodiversity and reforestation initiatives.
Mr. Tolu Adedayo solicited the Assistance of the Commission in the Provision of 200 hectares of degraded lands for the reforestation program of the Dangote Group.
He also disclosed that the Reforestation Program of the Dangote Group is also part of the Corporate Social Responsibility to the State.
He expressed his gratitude for the warm reception accorded them during the visit and highlighted the importance of collaboration in environmental conservation.
Addressing the Group Hon. Asuen welcomed the partnership, emphasizing the significance of the state government's reforestation program. He acknowledged the achievements of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in promoting environmental sustainability in Edo State.
This partnership is a significant step towards achieving the state's environmental goals. The collaboration between Edo State Forestry Commission and Dangote Group is expected to contribute meaningfully to the State's reforestation efforts and promote biodiversity conservation.
