HON. ANSLEM ADIMA COMMENDS PEACEFUL CONDUCT OF JULY 11 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS, CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED CHAIRMEN AND COUNCILLORS
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Anslem Adima, has expressed profound satisfaction over the peaceful, transparent, and successful conduct of the July 11, 2026, Local Government Elections across the state.
Hon. Adima congratulated all the duly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councillors on their well deserved victories, describing their emergence as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in them by the people. He urged the newly elected officials to see their victories not as an opportunity for celebration alone, but as a solemn call to selfless service, accountability, and grassroots development.
He commended the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring that the local government system remains a viable instrument for delivering development to the people. According to him, the successful conduct of the election further reflects the Governor's dedication to deepening democracy and promoting good governance at the grassroots.
Hon. Adima noted that Governor Okpebholo's transformative SHINE Agenda has continued to redefine governance in Edo State through massive investments in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security, youth empowerment, and rural development. He observed that the visible transformation across the state has effectively turned Edo into a construction site, with impactful projects being executed in virtually every sector of the economy.
He therefore called on the newly elected Chairmen to align their administrations with the vision of the Governor by embracing the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and people oriented leadership. He emphasized that the dividends of democracy must be felt in every ward and community through the provision of quality infrastructure, improved healthcare, quality education, environmental sanitation, youth and women empowerment, and sustainable economic opportunities.
The Special Adviser further encouraged the elected officials to maintain close collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders in fostering peace, unity, and development within their respective local government areas.
Hon. Adima also appreciated the people of Edo State for their peaceful participation during the election and for demonstrating faith in the democratic process. He urged residents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo as it remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy under the SHINE Agenda.
He reaffirmed his commitment, through the Office of the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, to supporting policies and initiatives that will strengthen local government administration and accelerate sustainable grassroots development across Edo State.
