Nasir El-Rufai to Appear Before EFCC on Monday, February 16, 2026

Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, will appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026.

This follows an alleged attempt by security operatives to arrest him upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday, after returning from Cairo, Egypt, via Egypt Air flight MS 877.

El-Rufai's counsel, Ubong Esop Akpan, said that the EFCC invitation was delivered to El-Rufai’s residence in December 2025 while he was abroad for medical treatment and rest, and that the team had been in communication with the EFCC, assuring compliance upon his return.
