Nigeria Police Force to Graduate 10,000 New Constables
Abuja, Nigeria – January 23, 2025 – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is set to bolster its ranks with the graduation of 10,000 newly trained constables. The passing-out parade, scheduled for today, will be held simultaneously at four police colleges and twelve training schools across the country. Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun will preside over the ceremonies.
The new recruits have completed rigorous training designed to equip them to tackle the nation's complex security challenges while upholding the rule of law. The IGP expressed confidence in the recruits' ability to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service.
“This significant increase in personnel will lead to improved community engagement, a more effective response to crime, and ultimately, enhanced public safety,” a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said.
Following graduation, the constables will be deployed to state commands nationwide, strengthening local policing and fostering closer ties between the police and the communities they serve. The NPF anticipates that this significant addition to its force will contribute substantially to improved security across the country.
