Edo SUBEB Chairman Celebrates International Day of Education, Emphasizes Quality Learning
Benin City, Edo State – January 24, 2025 – Edo State's Sub-Committee on Education and Basic Education (SUBEB) Chairman, Mrs. Onomen Goodness Briggs, marked the 2025 International Day of Education with a call for a renewed commitment to quality education for all children in the state.
This year's theme, "AI and Education: preserving Agency in a World of Automotive," highlighted the evolving role of technology in education.
In a statement released today, Mrs. Briggs emphasized the crucial role of education in human progress. She stated, "Education is the cornerstone of human progress, a beacon of hope that illuminates minds and empowers individuals." She further highlighted education's ability to transcend borders and cultures, equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking to navigate a rapidly changing world, fostering empathy and lifelong learning.
The statement also lauded the efforts of Governor Monday Okpebholo, who is actively working with stakeholders to align public school curriculums with modern educational trends. Governor Okpebholo's administration is also focused on ensuring no child is left behind through school construction, teacher recruitment, and the creation of supportive learning environments.
Mrs. Briggs urged Edo State residents to reinforce their commitment to providing quality education for all. She called for inclusive and equitable learning environments that allow all children, regardless of their background, to reach their full potential.
