Edo Governor Okpebholo Urges Contractors to Complete Highway Repairs Before Rainy Season.




Benin City, Edo State – January 26, 2025 – Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo today urged contractors responsible for repairs on the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi highway to expedite their work and ensure completion before the rainy season. The Governor, accompanied by his entourage, personally inspected several sections of the road, including critical junctions like Obadan and Okpoji.

Governor Okpebholo visited affected communities along the highway, including Ugha, Ehor, Ihie, Utene, Igieduma, Okemuen, Power Line off Ukhun road Eguare Ekpoma, Iruekpen, Idumebo, and others. He engaged with contractors on site, inquiring about any challenges and reiterating the need to meet contractual specifications.

In the heavily affected Power Line section off Ukhun road, Eguare Ekpoma, residents voiced their appreciation to the Governor for restoring access to the rest of the state. A similar sentiment was expressed at Okpoji junction where a large crowd welcomed the Governor, thanking him for the road improvements and pledging continued support.

A student at Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, Mr. Christian Obi, praised the repairs and thanked the Governor for resolving the critical access issue. Mrs. Margaret Agbonzele, speaking at Okpoji junction, emphasized the positive impact of the Governor's work on the community and reaffirmed her support for the APC administration.

The Edo State Government is overseeing the palliative work on the damaged sections of the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi road. The Governor's visit and directives underscore the state government's commitment to maintaining key transportation infrastructure and ensuring connectivity for residents.
