Edo Governor Commissions New Waste Management Equipment.
BENIN CITY, Edo State – Governor Monday Okpebholo today commissioned a fleet of new waste management equipment for the Edo State Waste Management Agency. The commissioning ceremony, held at the agency's premises within Government House, underscores the administration's commitment to environmental cleanliness.
Governor Okpebholo was joined by Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the Edo State Government Musa Ikhilor, and other senior government officials. Agency staff were present to witness the event.
The new equipment includes pay loaders, compactors, and tippers, designed to improve waste collection and disposal across the state. Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of environmental cleanliness, stating that it is crucial for attracting investors and improving the quality of life for Edo State residents. He quoted the adage, "cleanliness is next to godliness," highlighting the moral and economic benefits of a clean environment.
The Governor urged agency staff to maintain and utilize the equipment responsibly, ensuring its optimal performance for the benefit of the people of Edo State. He stressed the importance of protecting the investment made in the new equipment.
